'Pokemon GO' update, Gen 3 creatures news: Niantic to roll out characters in batches; dynamic weather system added

This week starts the arrival of Gen 3 Pokemon in the new "Pokemon GO" update. Aside from that, Niantic will also roll out the dynamic weather system, which can adapt real-life weather conditions that can affect the game's gameplay.

Niantic is going to release a series of "Pokemon GO" updates starting this week. Aside from new creatures, the inclusion of the real-life weather system can change the game's look. Now, players' characters can play in the rain or in the snow, or any weather influenced by real-time climate like sunny, foggy, cloudy, or windy.

"Players should expect to see a much better match between what's in the game and what's in the world around them," the game's lead developer Matt Slemon said. With that, the dynamic weather system, too, could change the kind of Pokemon the players are about to see. If it is raining, water-type creatures will be more visible. Also, some attacks will be more effective with the matching weather condition.

Meanwhile, the "Pokemon GO" update will add up to 50 new Pokemon from the Hoenn region. These creatures were originated from "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire." Players can now catch Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and much more.

However, Niantic is not going to reveal these individuals all at once. Instead, they will be released gradually in due course. According to reports, the Gen 3 Pokemon will be out in batches, according to their themes. In the first week, Gen 3 Fire Pokemon will be unveiled, to be followed by Grass Pokemon, and so on and so forth.

This move is to avoid letting "Pokemon GO" players catch them all at once. If gamers happen to get the new creatures quickly, they will start to ask for more. Although Niantic still has a lot of generations to work within the Pokemon universe, it cannot introduce them all at the same time. This effort could also be an effective way to keep fans interested in playing the game.
