While it has already been said that the upcoming augmented reality title "Pokémon GO" will roll out this year, a specific date has yet to be revealed. But fans will now have a chance to see the title officially for the first time as it is confirmed that "Pokémon GO" will appear at the Global Developers Conference 2016.
According to PC Advisor, developer Niantic is confirmed to be attending the GDC, which is happening from March 14 to 18 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Based on how the company is introduced on the 2016 GDC website, fans can expect that the developer will showcase "Pokémon GO." The website blurb says, "Attendees will get a first-hand, in-depth look at how players are interacting and exploring the world with one another through Pokémon GO, the collaborative approach to design and development for the game and the next evolution of augmented reality and real-world mobile gameplay experiences."
It is also teased that there may be a playable demo for "Pokémon GO" at the event as the blurb also mentions that the showcase will be "adding a new Bluetooth wearable created by Nintendo to the mix."
The statement points out that there will be a "Pokémon GO Plus" demonstration since this wearable was created by Nintendo and Niantic especially for the "Pokémon GO" title.
As for the release date of "Pokémon GO," it can be expected that more details will be forthcoming at the GDC. Fans can also expect a number of release dates for the game, since it is confirmed that the title will have a staggered roll out, and each region will have a different release date. According to Serebii, this detail comes from Tsunekazu Ishihara, head of The Pokémon Company. Reportedly, Ishihara said that "Pokémon GO" will launch first in Japan, Europe and North America, to be followed by global releases in South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
