PlayStation Plus July 2016 free games: 'Kill Strain' isn't there but 'Saints Row,' 'Prince of Persia' are

Since it is the start of the month, Sony PlayStation has announced the free games for its PlayStation Plus program for the month of July.

In an announcement on the U.S. PlayStation Blog, the full lineup lists six games for the different PS systems. For the PlayStation 4, PS Plus members can get "Saints Row: Gat out of Hell" and "Furi." The previous-gen console PS3 also gets its own games, as "Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood" and "Fat Princess" will be available for the whole month. The hand-held PS Vita also gets PS Plus free games like "Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines" and "Prince of Persia: Revolution."

The new free games list will be available for PS Plus members for the whole month of July. This setup is different from PlayStation's rival Xbox, as its similar Xbox Games with Gold program changes its list schedule in the middle of the month.

Meanwhile, aside from the six games in the July 2016 list of the PS Plus program, players who are PS Plus members will also get the chance to have a sneak peek at the upcoming "Paragon" title, a MOBA game from Epic Games that will go into open beta on Aug. 16. According to PS Plus content partnership manager Greg Lewickyj, the game is not the only freebie that PS Plus members will get, since "Besides getting to play the game before it hits open beta, you will also receive a Starter Pack that includes three Master Challenges for the heroes Gadget, Murdock, and Rampage (to unlock skins, XP boosts, emotes, deck slots, and more — a $40 value)."

There have been talks of a bonus game for the July 2016 games list in the PS Plus program. Previous speculations suggested that another upcoming game, "Kill Strain," is the bonus game for the month.

Since the PS Plus games list for July has already been announced, some hardcore fans aired disappointments on online forums. Sony PlayStation has been known to add triple-A classics to the list from time to time, and some have expected major games like "The Evil Within" and the original "Watchdogs" to be included.
