'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' news: Developers looking to improve performance by removing the pre-game chaos

The developers behind "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") have announced that they are looking into implementing measures that will improve server and client performance. Unfortunately, one of these measures involves reducing the amount of chaos that occur right before a match starts.

To those who are not familiar with how "PUBG" works, all players would spawn in at one location as they wait for the match to start. In this location, there are numerous weapons lying around for players to mess around with while the players themselves are impervious to any kind of damage.

Now, with nearly a hundred people in the same location and a bunch of weapons just scattered about, it is bound to get chaotic, and it usually does, but it has also become a staple of the "PUBG" experience.

Well, it looks like those days might be numbered because the PUBG Corporation is planning to remove all that in an upcoming patch as a way of improving the game's overall performance.

According to an official post made on Steam, the previous pre-match setup was causing a heavy impact on servers because it involved several players all interacting with one another at the same time in a small space. To fix this, they are planning to spread out the players when they first spawn in to numerous different locations. In addition to that, they are also removing all the weapons in the pre-match area. And, at least according to them, this has improved the overall performance of the game.

They also announced that they will be testing a new anti-cheat measure that may cause the game to crash on certain PCs. They strongly advise affected players to take a screenshot of the issue if it does happen and report it to them.

This update serves as another change that the PUBG team continue to develop in order to improve their game. Just a week ago, they announced plans to change how the blue zone works so that the game does not grow too stale.
