"Playerunknown's Battlegrounds" to release its latest game update

Bluehole is busy making games for a lot of people.

The game developer behind the hit PC game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" has launched a website for its next game — a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) which will be called "Ascent: Infinite Realm."

The developer also dropped the trailer for the game which goes more than five minutes and shows a lot. It features a lot of airships and dragons, alongside shots of jetpack boosters, guns, mechs, and a lot of estate-building. In different parts of the trailer, players are shown commandeering the airships either as the pilots or turret gunners.

The website advises that a player vs. player (PvP) airship battles will be common place in the game. It further states that the use of airships and flying mounts will give players the experience of multi-dimensional battles in the open skies.

Bluehole's newest offer is aimed at a wider demographic. The trailer seems to indicate that there is something for everyone: dragon hunts, flying airships, communities to build and a lot more. The challenge that Bluehole will have to face is that making sure that it does not spread itself too thin. Each element of the game has to be sufficiently fleshed out to give players the chance to repeatedly go back to the game.

Bluehole already hit the jackpot with "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" and so, it remains to be seen if they will be able to replicate their success.

"Ascent: Infinite Realm" will be published by Kakao Games, while the developer has yet to announce a date for its release. Insiders are looking at a closed beta testing in the first half of next year. The game is expected to be shown off at the upcoming G-Star 2017 trade show in Busan, South Korea which will happen between from Nov. 16 to 19.
