Another member of the Philadelphia Phillies seems to be on his way out as second baseman Chase Utley is on the trade block with three clubs showing interest in the 12-year veteran.
MLB.com reported that the Phillies already received offers for Utley with the Los Angeles Angels, Chicago Cubs, and the San Francisco Giants showing the most interest in him.
The Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees are also among the clubs who are looking to trade for Utley.
The decision is on Utley who has a 10-and-5 no-trade rights (10 years in the Majors, five consecutive with the same club) as he can turn down any trade deal, MLB.com added.
Utley is performing very well for the Phillies since returning from the disabled list on Aug. 7.
MLB.com reported that the Angels have had top scouts observing the 36-year-old baseman during the Phillies series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Meanwhile, another very likely destination for Utley are the Cubs as they could offer him significant playing time.
However, the defending World Series champions the Giants confirmed Thursday that they have already offered a deal to the Phillies for Utley, although club general manager Bobby Evans said through a text message that he's uncertain how everything will be concluded, according to MLB.com.
The addition of Utley to the Giants would be great as he could be a replacement for San Francisco second baseman Joe Panik who is currently on the disabled list with back inflammation.
Utley could play as the Giants' second baseman while Panik is trying to recover from the injury but there could be a downside if he joins the club as he might have limited playing time once Panik returns to action.
No trade deal is imminent as of the moment but the Phillies are open to trading Utley.
