Close to its release, developer Atlus has released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming sequel, "Persona 5."

The new video showcases the main protagonist and his team called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. In one gameplay scene, the video also highlights the use of Personas in battle. In addition, the new trailer also showcases how each team member can either be a straight-forward attacker or support, as each Persona can also dish out damages to the enemy, or give out buffs and team skills.

In addition to the new gameplay video, Atlus has also updated the official website with new details about the game. New details on the main characters, as well as general gameplay, are already live. "Persona 5" will have the players encounter dungeons with "Shadows" on them, which is stated to be "embodiments of human emotions, twisted by the distorted desires of the Palace's master. Operating under the Palace master's influence, Shadows will ambush the main characters."

The main characters will have to navigate the dungeons while battling these Shadows, using items, weapons, and their inner Persona beings. Aside from the team, the players will also meet Cooperation Characters, or the NPCs in "Persona 5" that may prove to be helpful in managing the game. These special characters also have their own set of unique skills and abilities which the players can use depending on how deep their "bond" is.

With new details emerging about the game, Atlus is establishing the release of "Persona 5" as definite. Previously, it is expected that the game will release in 2015. Now, Atlus is maintaining that "Persona 5" will release in Japan on Sept. 15. Meanwhile, North American fans can get the game by Feb. 14 next year. A European release is also planned by publisher Deep Silver, although a release date has yet to be established.
