GameSpot reported that players can avail themselves of the free skin which is "Overwatch's" tribute to Blizzard's 1998 "StarCraft" by logging into the game anytime until Apr. 3. The Kerrigan skin apparently gives Widowmaker a Terran makeover. She is given the outfit of "StarCraft's" most famous ghost before she went to become the Queen of Blades.

GameSpot reported that the Kerrigan skin is one of the cross-promotional goodies Blizzard will release in celebration of "StarCraft's" 20th anniversary on Mar. 31. The game site said that players of "StarCraft: Remastered" and "StarCraft 2" may log in to their accounts to get portraits and decals while "Diablo 3" players will get a Battlecruiser pet. Moreover, "Hearthstone" players will be getting a "StarCraft"-themed Tavern Brawl on Mar. 21. Meanwhile, "Heroes of the Storm" players will have anniversary portraits while "World of Warcraft" players will get their own StarCraft pets.

According to the official website for "Overwatch," Amélie Lacroix, now known as Widowmaker, is Talon's perfect assassin as she is a ruthless killer who displays patience and shows no emotion and remorse. She was the wife of Overwatch agent Gérard Lacroix who had been dealing with Talon. She was abducted by Talon operatives and was subjected to an intense program of neural reconditioning, reprogramming her as a sleeper agent. She killed her husband not long after being found by Overwatch agents.

Talon completely turned her into a living weapon, giving her extensive training in the covert arts and altering her physiology, slowing her heart in the process which made her skin turn a blue hue and made her numb from any kind of emotion. Widowmaker equips herself with whatever she can find to eliminate her opponents. Some of her weapons include a versatile sniper rifle that can be fired in fully-automatic mode, a grappling hook, a venom mine that delivers a toxic gas to her enemies and a visor that grants her allies infra-sight.
