'My dogs did it': Carrie Underwood recalls how her baby got locked up inside her car

For any parent, it's always a horrific experience to lose sight of one's baby and fail to provide him or her with the right care and protection. This was what Christian country singer Carrie Underwood underwent last July when her infant son Isaiah Michael Fisher got accidentally locked up inside her car.

She recalled the experience during an interview with Chicago's US 99.5 radio station, describing how her dogs Ace and Penny Jean caused all the trouble.

"We were at the airport, the car was running, the radio was on, the air conditioning was on, our family kind of came to see us off," Underwood, 32, said. "As you do, you get out of the front seat and you shut the door so you can turn around, so you can get your luggage out."

"Immediately, one of the dogs jumped up on the little control panel on the door, and I heard the thing click. I was like, 'The door's locked, the door's locked, the door's locked!'" she exclaimed.

Underwood and her NHL player-husband Mike Fisher, 35, tried to get creative in getting the doors opened again, but none of their tricks worked. They even tried to get their dogs to step on the control panel again, but Ace and Penny Jean refused to do so.

"We were trying to jimmy open the car door. Nobody had a hanger," Underwood said. "I was trying to get the dogs to come back over and do the same thing and unlock the door."

Unable to find any other immediate solution, they broke the glass door to get Isaiah Michael out.

Underwood shared her experience on her Twitter account (@carrieunderwood) by writing: "When your dogs manage to lock themselves, all your stuff & the baby in the car & you have to break a window to get in."

She added later: "I should clarify. My bro-in-law was actually the window breaker in the 'dogs-locked-the-car-door' incident today! But all is good now!"
