Fans are speculating that "Orange Is the New Black" season 5 will have them again witness someone departing the show, after Poussey Washington's (Samira Wiley) tragic departure last season. It could be Taylor Schilling's Piper this time or any of the ladies inside the Litchfield Penitentiary.
Piper is highly rumored to be the next one to leave the show. Schilling admits that her character will have a rough time inside the prison this coming season. It seemed so when a teaser photo showed that her left hand was about to get smashed, but she said that it was not about to happen. She then decided not to answer directly if her character will be fine in season 5, Pop Sugar reported.
Fans are aware that anything can happen in the series. It seems that the writers do not mind if the core characters get killed as long as it will make the story more intense, especially now that it has been renewed through season seven.
The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that Lolly Whitehill (Lori Petty) also hinted that her character could return to the penitentiary. Lolly was taken away to the Psych ward later on.
However, Petty said, "I certainly hope so. I do think we will. I can't say for sure, but I absolutely think we will." She also added, "They are just now filming episode one [of season five] and you know how we ended season four. They have a lot to deal with right now! I'm just waiting on the phone call to get back on the plane. I'm sure it will come, but we have 13 episodes and they've got a lot to take care of, so we'll see."
She also revealed that there is a huge new set in the props department, complete with hallways, which might end up as the Psych ward.
"Orange Is the New Black" season 5 is speculated to air sometime in June 2017 on Netflix.
