It is already confirmed that "Orange Is The New Black" will be coming back for a new season next year. Speculations suggest that as with previous seasons, season 5 will again spell death for one of its characters.

Season 4 ended with fans seeing the death of Poussey Washington. However, the demise itself is said to be anti-climactic, as Washington was accidentally suffocated by Bayley (Alan Aisenberg) during a protest instead of a riot-related violent death.

With the penitentiary breaking into a full-scale riot, it will again spell death for one of its characters. According to Yibada, supposed spoilers for season 5 spells the death of Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling.

Meanwhile, aside from another death inside the penitentiary, "Orange Is The New Black" season 5 will also continue with the fate of Daya Diaz. Last season, Diaz was seen having a stand-off with Correctional Officer Thomas Humphrey (Michael Torpey) during the uprising. It is said that whatever the outcome, season 5 will continue with Diaz being dragged into the Special Housing Unit after the riot.

While not directly spoiling the outcome, Diaz' Dascha Polanco hints that season 5 will be a make-or-break moment for the character, and it may even show in the premiere episodes. Polanco said to The Hollywood Reporter: "At this point, Daya is thinking, 'F— everyone. I'm going for it.'" This hints that the premiere may pan out immediately after the events in the closing episodes of season 4.

Diaz becoming a highlight in the opening episodes of season 5 has been hinted in the last two episodes of season 4. In the finale itself, Diaz is seen in the final moments of the finale episode looking at Washington's corpse. Diaz is also hinted to be a pivotal character for the upcoming season, with the correctional inmate having a gun on almost everyone — including the stand-off with Humphrey — inside Litchfield Penitentiary.

"Orange Is The New Black" is expected to return for season 5 sometime next year.
