OnePlus 3 release date news: no invites for flagship with 6GB RAM coming June 14

OnePlus has already confirmed that it will be doing away with the invitiaton system when it launches the OnePlus 3 on June 14.

It is already confirmed that the OnePlus 3 will be launched via a VR event. Meanwhile, the new OnePlus 3 will be revealed on June 14 at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time, though the company has yet to say if the launch will be for pre-orders of the new flagship or, since it will be invite-free, the OnePlus 3 will be immediately available for a global release.

However, it is confirmed that there are already pre-orders for the new flagship, although it is only exclusive to China. The pre-orders are also limited to only a thousand units of the OnePlus 3.

The June release of the OnePlus 3 is a surprise, since Pocket Lint says that unlike major industry players like Samsung and Apple, OnePlus doesn't have a predictable flagship release cycle. The first company flagship, the OnePlus One, was released in April 2014 and OnePlus 2 rolled out at the end of July last year.

Meanwhile, although OnePlus has yet to come out with the official specs sheet of the new flagship, many expect the OnePlus 3 to remain a "flagship killer," the company's tagline for its lineups. This is because from OnePlus One and succeeding releases, the company has featured top-notch features in its devices but maintained a budget-friendly price.

As for the upcoming iteration, it is believed that the OnePlus 3 will come out with a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage for its premium model, while a base version will supposedly have 4GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage.
