One Million Moms fights 'The Detour' TV show, says it uses the Lord's name in vain constantly, uses sexual innuendos

There are a lot of TV shows that promote inappropriate content and vulgar language, but the Christian watchdog group One Million Moms is especially shocked by the "nasty content" of the TBS sitcom, "The Detour."

"It is almost impossible to describe the depth of depravity found in the TBS sitcom, 'The Detour.' 1MM will not go into detail and spread its nasty content further. 1MM cannot even mention specifics during radio interviews because it pushes the envelope so much," the group wrote on its website. "Every scene is filled with extremely foul language, using the Lord's name in vain, sexual innuendos, and graphic encounters throughout the entire thirty-minute program."

What makes the program even more deplorable, according to 1MM, is that it includes young cast members. The show is all about a criminal family, who is running from the law. The show is inappropriate for viewers of any age, but it has been given a TV-MA LS rating (designed to be viewed by adults and may be unsuitable for children under 17 years of age).

At the same time, the age of two of its primary cast members are bound to attract young viewers. "The network should be ashamed of itself for exposing the two young actors to this filth and crude humor. Many times, the script involves the two children spouting off profanities," the group said.

1MM is further upset since the show uses the Lord's name in vain constantly. The group is urging Restaurant Brands International, which handles Burger King and Popeye's, among many others, to pull their financial support from the show.

"God is never glorified when the Lord's name is taken in vain. You and I cannot let this continue. One Million Moms intends to do something about it," the group said.

They are also urging Tylenol, which is owned by Johnson & Johnson, to stop placing their advertisements on the show.
