Since "Once Upon a Time" premiered in 2011, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and other Storybrooke characters have faced off against numerous villains, but when the show returns for the second half of season 5, they will face their greatest foe yet as they attempt to rescue Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) from the Underworld. It will be none other than Hades himself.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Ally McBeal" alum Greg Germann will be playing Hades. Germann's other credits include ABC Family's "Chasing Life" and the CBS series "Limitless."

Executive producer Adam Horowitz told EW that viewers will get to meet the show's version of Hades in the second half of the season. While some are expecting to see Disney's larger-than-life version of the character, the producer said that they are going to put their own "spin" on Hades.

"While he is both inspired by a myth and by the Disney movie version, as we like to do, we're trying to create our own 'Once Upon a Time' spin," said Horowitz. "We can't see what [Germann] does with the character."

It seems that Germann will appear as a modern version of Hades. His character is listed on IMDB as "Distinguished Gentleman" for the show's 12th episode titled "Souls of the Departed." So, instead of Disney's blue-skinned and wild-haired version of the character, "OUAT's" Hades will likely appear as a well-groomed gentleman dressed in a sharp suit.

Executive producer Edward Kitsis told EW that Hades will have "a surprising connection to one of our cast." Horowitz added that though he's not related to anyone, there is a connection with one of the Storybrooke characters.

"Once Upon a Time" returns on March 6,  8 p.m. on ABC. The second half of the season will pick up where it left off with Emma and her family and friends in the Underworld.
