October Baby out on DVD this September

The surprise hit October Baby arrives in Europe this September on DVD.

The independent film is part love story, part serious message about the sanctity of life. It stars Rachel Hendrix as "Hannah", a young woman who discovers she is an abortion survivor and embarks on an emotional journey to find her mother.

The movie sparked a national debate about abortion when it opened in the US and went on to take $5.3 million at the US box office.

Site licences for screenings of October Baby at churches and non-profit organisations are available, with showings starting on 23 July ahead of the 18 September release via Authentic Media.

The film was made by Christian brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin and American Family Studios with the Sony-owned Provident Films.

It's the feature debut for the Erwin brothers, who have staked out their name in making music videos for Christian artists like Casting Crowns and Michael W Smith, but it's been met with enthusiastic response from the Christian community.

Alex Kendrick, creator of other Christian hit films Courageous and Fireproof, called it “a great film with a great message".

Joyce Meyer, Bible teacher and bestselling author, said, "This film reveals the value of every person and their ability to enjoy their lives - by living to forgive."

Additionally, the producers of October Baby have assigned 10 per cent of the profits of the movie to the Every Life is Beautiful Fund, which will distribute funds to frontline organisations helping women facing crisis pregnancies, life-affirming adoption agencies, and those caring for orphans.
