Shiro Games, the developer and publisher of "Northgard," announced that the Viking real-time strategy (RTS) colony simulation game is scheduled to leave Early Access and launch properly on March 7.

Adrien "Brioche" Briatta of Shiro Games announced the news on a Steam post on Feb. 20. No further details were given other than a new campaign mode will release alongside the game's proper launch. Briatta announced that the upcoming campaign mode of "Northgard" is titled Rig's Saga and posted the trailer for the campaign. Players will be taking on the role of Rig, son of the Viking High King who is on a quest to avenge his murdered father. The campaign will have 11 chapters with which players have to master all the clan's specificities and tame the wilderness of Northgard to complete.

According to its Steam page, "Northgard" is based on Norse mythology. Players control a clan of Vikings who are competing for the control of a recently discovered mysterious continent to bring fame to their respective Clans and to write history. This mysterious continent named Northgard contains not only riches but also a lurking danger. Vikings must survive dire wolves and undead warriors wandering in the lands of Northgard, befriend of defeat giants as well as survive the harshest winters they will ever experience.  Players will be tasked to do the following — build settlement in Northgard, assign jobs (farmer, warrior, sailor or loremaster) to fellow Vikings, manage resources wisely as to survive the winters, expand and discover new territories which will grant players unique strategic opportunities and achieve different victory conditions (conquest, fame, lore or trading).

"Northgard" is available on Steam for $29.99.
