While Nintendo has yet to provide details on its upcoming NX system other than a vague release period, some publishers are already keen on the titles that they will release on the system. Speculations suggest that Electronic Arts will be one of the big-name stakeholders of the new system.

According to the BBC, EA is closely monitoring how the Nintendo NX is shaping up and may even make NX versions of their titles, which may include the newly announced "Battlefield 1."

Executive vice president Patrick Soderlund told the industry observer, "I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo, they're the reason why I started making games, we're in constant communication with them and when they come to market something - and if it makes sense for us - we'll be there."

Express UK says that EA is not committing to anything at this time, since it has to build up its rumored game version ports first for the Wii U. The industry follower added that EA is already building a closer third-party support partnership with Nintendo, trying to patch things up. EA may eventually go back to publishing content for the current-gen Nintendo console.

Aside from "Battlefield 1," some major franchise titles from EA may eventually make it to the Nintendo NX, but it remains to be seen how Nintendo plans to present its next-gen system. Observers are guarded to tag the next-gen system as a "console," since Nintendo is being cagey on how it will improve gaming. According to rumors, the Nintendo NX is a hybrid device, and can be set up for both console and mobile gaming.

Meanwhile, should EA release its titles for the NX, the games will join other reported titles that will make it to the next-gen system. Nintendo has already confirmed that its next game, a new "The Legend of Zelda" will be released on both the Wii U and the NX.
