Nexus 9 /Nexus Volantis rumors: Powerful 64-bit Tegra K1 confirmed in leaked screenshots

Is the leaked CPU Z information from TKTechNews the real deal? TK

A leaked report from a credible source managed to post a screenshot of the latest Android benchmark software called CPU-Z which is said to run on what supposedly is HTC's latest power tablet called Nexus 9, which also possesses an extremely amazing hardware.

In the leaked screenshot by TKTechNews, Nexus 9, dubbed as Volantis, uses the potent 64-bit ARM processor Nvidia chip called Tegra K1 Denver, which is said to be the first for Android devices.

Google declared that Android L will run mainly on a 64-bit processor once it had been launched in the last part of 2014 which simply means that the Nexus 9 tablet could possibly be the first ever device from Nexus that uses the 64-bit chip.

Kevin C. Tofel from Gigaom noted that the leaked report from TKTechNews is somewhat interesting, since the earlier leaks of the upcoming Nexus phone indicated that it will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, which happens to have a 32-bit processor.

Tofel also said, "The Snapdragon 805 processor is pretty cutting-edge at the moment, but it isn't 64-bit compatible. The test phone was shown to be running Android L, which Google said in June would be fully 64-bit, complete with the new ART run-time. Assuming this device is the Nexus 6, which is a possibility since Google does rotate through hardware partners for the Nexus line, why would it showcase Android L on a phone with a 32-bit processor?"

On the other hand, GSM Arena mentioned that the Tegra K1 that runs the Nexus 9 has an astounding clock speed of 2.5GHz, which is definitely higher compared to the 2.2GHz non-64-bit Tegra K1.

Nexus 9 will reportedly cost as low as $399 for the cheapest model, while its 32GB version can be purchased for $499. An LTE-capable version may also be released in the market.

The release date for the powerful Nexus 9 is still unverified as of the moment.
