An Oregon man who survived a devastating crash said he prayed to live as he looked death in the face.

Kaleb Whitby described his harrowing experience to the hosts of "Fox & Friends" this week, and said that it was a miracle he survived.

Whitby was driving his Chevy Silverado along an icy Interstate-84 near Baker City on Saturday morning in foggy conditions.

Suddenly, he noticed a tractor trailer jackknifed in front of him, blocking the entire road, and had no time to stop. He slammed into the truck, and was unhurt. However, the danger wasn't over yet.

"The next thing I know, I look out my back window and see the lights of a semi-truck barreling down on me," Whitby told "Fox and Friends".

"It was then – I didn't even look at it. I turned back and faced forward and closed my eyes." Whitby, who has a pregnant wife and a two-year-old son, began to pray.

"Everybody talks about your life flashing before your eyes, it didn't for me," he said. "All I could think about is my wife and my son and just hoping that it wasn't my time and praying that I would be able to get through it.

Whitby's truck was crushed like a can, and he was trapped in a three-foot space between the massive vehicles. One of the truck drivers took a picture of the shocking crash, which has since gone viral.

"Something like that you don't see twice in a lifetime," Whitby insisted.

The husband and father suffered only a bruised eye and minor cuts on his hand in a pileup that included 26 vehicles and injured 12 people.
