'NCIS' season 12 episode 5 synopsis and promo clip: 'The San Dominick'

On "NCIS" season 12 episode 4, a new face was introduced. She was none other than Stephanie Jacobsen, who was revealed to play FBI Special Agent Leia Pendergast. This isn't a big surprise anymore since Jacobsen has been in the rumor mill of "NCIS" season 12 for months now.

Jacobsen's character FBI Agent Pendergast appeared in the episode "Choke Hold," and it looks like she will be Tony DiNozzo's new love interest. Entertainment Weekly described her as "armed but feminine, sexy and single, cool and confident."

EW also said, "[Agent Pendergast] is flirtatious and adventurous with a sense of humor. Leia is a straight shooter, brash when she needs to be. She isn't afraid to knock down doors or egos."

However, this development isn't welcomed by some fans of "NCIS" who are still rooting for Tiva (Tony and Ziva) to happen, reports IBT. During the premiere episode, the show dropped a hint that Ziva David may come back, and it made the fans feel hopeful. And then Episode 4 comes and they introduce Agent Pendergast, so the fans are confused now.

Meanwhile, the "NCIS" season 12 episode 5 synopsis and promo clip have been released. The episode is entitled "The San Dominick" and, looking at the trailer, the episode looks very intense. The promo clip shows that Gibbs gets entangled with a takeover by pirates.  The official synopsis reads:

During a joint Coast Guard and NCIS training exercise at sea, Gibbs and CGIS Agent Borin will see a deceased man overboard, who is discovered to be a missing crew member from a ship 60 nautical miles away. Upon boarding the ship for questioning, Gibbs will find himself on a ship that has been taken over by pirates. Diane Neal guest stars as CGIS Agent Abigail Borin and Jim Beaver guest stars as Captain Tom O'Rourke."

"The San Dominick" will air on Tuesday, Oct. 21, on CBS.
