NBA trade rumors: Detroit Pistons ramping up efforts to reunite Morris Twins?

Could the Detroit Pistons finally pull the trigger and reunite Marcus and Markieff Morris?

The National Basketball Association (NBA) trade deadline is fast approaching and Detroit seems like a logical landing spot for the disgruntled Phoenix Suns forward. But the question is does coach Stan Van Gundy need him?

With Marcus, the Pistons have gotten something that the Suns weren't able to see when he was still in Phoenix. He has blossomed into a key player for the team and is flourishing on his own while his twin brother is not doing so well this season.

Both Marcus and Morris have expressed their unhappiness since being separated in the offseason, despite telling Suns management that they would be willing to take a big pay cut just to stay together.

With the Suns forgetting about that request, Markieff has taken exception. He started the season asking for a trade but instead got fined for his tirades. But now, the Suns may have to actually consider trading him, seeing that the team is going nowhere with the forward who made waves last season.

Multiple teams have been linked to Markieff but so far, nothing has come to fruition. The Pistons did express interest before, although it would mean giving up someone on their end to make it happen.

As of this writing, the Pistons are 27–27 but are in striking distance for a possible postseason berth. With that in mind, a trade for Markieff Morris may make or break their chances. It all depends if Markieff can blend in and recall his old form.

But would this not steal away some playing time from Marcus?

Depending on how he performs, that could happen. They could be used together, although it remains to be seen how that will turn out.

Aside from the Suns, other teams linked to Markieff Morris include the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Toronto Raptors. Could these be possible landing spots for the troubled forward?
