Cyan Inc., the developer of the graphic adventure puzzle game "Myst" that was originally released in 1993 for the Macintosh platform, is teasing something in the works for the game's 25th anniversary.

Cyan published a series of tweets on Mar. 7 that form the phrase, "Perhaps the ending has not yet been written..." Fans are left wondering what exactly the developer is hinting at, particularly after Cyan published another tweet on the same day — this time, featuring an old book with the game's title on the cover below a yellow sticky note with the number 25 underlined thrice and a black pen (see above photo).

Fans have been speculating that something is in the works for "Myst's" 25th anniversary on September 24, judging by the recent photo published by Cyan. PC Gamer believes Cyan is planning to release either a remaster of the game or a new sequel.

TechCrunch believes Cyan may not release a remaster of the game since it did so already for personal computers (PCs). Cyan released "Myst: Masterpiece Edition" on Steam in 2011, however, players have mixed feelings when it comes to game reviews. TechCrunch, on the other hand, acknowledge the possibility of Cyan releasing a new sequel or prequel done in "Obduction" style, The site also said there is a possibility of either a "realMyst" version of "Myst's" sequel, "Riven" or an update to the other games published by Cyan who had not received the same warm feedback as "Myst" did.

"Myst" is a graphic puzzle adventure game designed by Robyn and Rand Miller. Players take on the role of the Stranger who makes use of a magical book to travel to the island of Myst. Players must use their wits and imaginations in solving puzzles to unlock the pasts of the game's other characters.
