Moto X+1 release date end of summer as specs leaked online

Moto X+1 release date is expected to be released by the end of summer as specs and features of the alleged smartphone leaked online.

Motorola is reportedly set to unveil the Moto X+1 this year, although the company has been quiet for many months regarding the exact date of the release. But latest tips pointed to possible release dates in the last days of September.

In February, the official Twitter account of Motorola Mobility confirmed that the next generation of Moto X will be launched in late summer this year without any hint on the particular date of the release of the handset.

Moreover, reliable tipster @evleaks backed up the said release date, which added more credibility on the previous confirmation. It seemed that Motorola wants to complete that span of one year before it releases the successor of the handset in order to know how well the device did in the market - and also, to maximize profits from sales.

The tweets did not reveal any detail regarding the specs and features of the handset. However, the specs of the Moto X+1 leaked online. The data was found on Chinese social media site Baidu.

The leaked specs include a Snapdragon 800 processor, although it is still unknown if the processor will be the ordinary quad core CPU or the chipset with 64-bit processor. The handset will also pack a 2GB of RAM, and will be available in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage variants. The smartphone was also supposed to pack a 5.2MP AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 as well as a 12MP rear camera.

The smartphone will have an integrated pedometer is and microSD card slot for storage expansion. The smartphone was supposed to run with Android 4.4.3 Kitkat, if ever the OS will see the light of the day. Moto X+1 was expected to be available for less than $500.
