'Mortal Kombat X' DLC news: 'Kombat Pack 3' to pack in fighters from outside series like Spawn?

Speculations of new fighters for the "Mortal Kombat X" game have started since news of a possible "Kombat Pack 3" surfaced online. Should the new DLC pack be released, will this see the expansion of the current roster and include more outsider characters?

Developer NetherRealm Studios conducted an unofficial poll on what players want to see for the future of "Mortal Kombat." Responses from fans were overwhelming, with a possible "Kombat Pack 3" for "Mortal Kombat X" coming out on top. While the developer did not confirm if it will follow fans' wishes, it is already expected that should a new "Kombat Pack" come out, it will introduce new characters to the game, both series veterans and non-"Mortal Kombat" fighters.

Topping the list of possible candidates is Spawn. The character is consistently on fan wish lists, even during the releases of "Kombat Pack 1" and "Kombat Pack 2," and fans still insist on the character's appearance. Although Spawn remains only a fan favorite to date, it is alleged that character creator Todd McFarlane has already given his go signal for NetherRealm Studios to use Spawn as they see fit.

When the first two "Kombat Pack" DLC packs were released, a mix of veterans and new characters were added to the fighter roster, including Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" films, Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series and the Xenomorph from the "Alien" franchise.

Meanwhile, another character that is said to appear for "Kombat Pack 3" is The Joker from the "Injustice: Gods Among Us" storyline. While this remains unconfirmed, observers agree that The Joker's personality in the story is violent enough to be included in the "Mortal Kombat" universe.

Aside from new characters, "Kombat Pack 3" is also expected to come out with other in-game bonuses like additional Fatalities, unlockable costumes, and new character skins.
