In the next episode of "Modern Family," Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) applies at the homeowner's association for a permit to build a "She Shed."

The sneak peeks and promotional photos for the upcoming installment, which is titled "He Said, She Shed," were released just recently. In one of them, Claire is cheerful as she enters the living room holding the letter regarding her request for the permit to build a shed for herself. "I need to put a 'She Shed' in the backyard where the teeter-totter used to be," she says to her family who is in the room as well. Her daughter Alex is confused and asks what kind of shed that is. Claire explains, "Well, it's just a simple little structure where I can be alone and do yoga or meditate, and nobody can bother me."

Alex sarcastically asks, "Oh, so a glass of wine, a cigarette, and a tub doesn't cut it anymore?" Apparently, Claire does not feel that much relaxed anymore in a bathtub that she needs something else to fulfill that role. She just brushes her daughter's comments aside and proceeds to open the envelope. "Congratulations honey," her husband Phil says to her. However, when she reads the letter, she finds out that her request is denied. Phil and their son Luke (Nolan Gould) seem to know the reason why it's rejected.

In the last episode, Alex and Luke started a strange shoe business wherein the sister would wear any kind of footwear and sell them to people with foot fetishes. Apparently, those types of people liked to smell the stench inside the shoes. Eventually, the kids were found out and told to stop, even if they were making lots of money.

"Modern Family" season 9 episode 11 will air on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
