A new update is available for "MLB The Show 17" that will fix some issues that players have encountered in the game.

Patch 1.04, which has a file size of 1.75 GB, will fix several bugs in the game. Various gameplay and transition improvements were made for online gameplay, including the catcher's blocking ability to prevent balls from traveling through the player. The patch also fixed the issue of freezing or getting stuck while on the field, in the bullpen, or while the game is paused.

For both offline and online gameplay, adjustments were made to limit the power on opposite field HRs. It also modulated the inside/outside swing types.

The update also now allows players to unlock icons that were previously unobtainable. Changes were also incorporated into the pre-game and post-season settings. Batter and walk up stats in the post-season have been corrected.

The bug wherein completed programs continue to show the "Feed Me" icons has also been fixed. Similarly, slide outs and defensive Shift menus will no longer overlap, thanks to this patch. Players may also notice that the correct Team or Division logos will now be displayed on the screen, unlike in the past when the wrong teams were shown.

The patch also comes with several pitches for the stadiums. Among the corrections that were made is the swapping of the "Home" and "Away" bullpens for the Miami stadium. The grass issues reported by players at Citi Field, as well as the issues with Old Miami and Wagonman stadiums, were also corrected. The bullpen camera has also been adjusted for several stadiums to prevent the video from clipping. Finally, the foul pole areas in BOS and CIN were also fixed. Finally, the "7 Line Army" of the New York Mets will now appear in both the Season and Franchise game modes.

Sony San Diego has previously stated that they were not completely satisfied with how the "MLB The Show 17" turned out, according to PlayStation Lifestyle. They said that all hands are on deck to work out the numerous issues reported in-game.
