'Middle-Earth: Shadow of War' DLC spoiler: 'Blade of Galadriel' DLC's opening cinematic unveiled

"Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" released another free content update that includes Online Fighting Pits. WB Games

Fans and players of "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" do not need the Eye of Sauron in order to see what is in store for the game, as the developers have already released a trailer showing off the cinematic for the "Blade of Galadriel" downloadable content (DLC) for the game.

Developer Monolith has revealed what the start of the DLC will look like. This time around, players will be involved in the story of one of the enigmatic figures in the Tolkien saga, which is the Elven Queen Galadriel. The players will be able to take control of a Blade of Galadriel, which is probably one of her royal guard and soldier, basically a skillful and beautiful female Elven warrior bound in servitude to the Elven Queen.

The Blade is named Eltariel and she was sent into action to resolve unfinished business in the lore of the game. Eltariel was sent by her mistress to Mordor to deal with the Nazgul, the nine powerful servants of the Dark Lord Sauron. Eltariel seemed to be reluctant about this and simply wanted to return to her home, but Galadriel would not have any of that and forced the servant to complete her task using the ring of power, which the main game's protagonist also uses. Only after completing the task will Eltariel be able to return home without facing her Lady's wrath.

As such, "Blade of Galadriel" will continue where "Shadow of War" left off, only this time around, players will be controlling Eltariel instead of Talion. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming DLC will make up for "Shadow of War's" failed sales expectations since the sequel to 2014's "Shadow of Mordor" has not seen much success compared to other AAA games released on the same year.

"Blade of Galadriel" has no exact release day announced yet but is expected to arrive sometime during February for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 (PS4), the Microsoft Windows.
