Michael Schumacher health condition update 2016: Media blackout to continue, according to Schumacher family wishes

Michael Schumacher had a career to die for. He went from one big win to the next, earning die-hard fans along the way. Easily one of the best racing champions, the idol was the Formula One World Champion seven times! He also has 91 wins to his credit.

But tragedy struck when the family took a vacation in the French Alps in December 2013. In a freak skiing accident, Michael sustained traumatic injuries to his head. Owing to the severity of the bruise, Schumacher had to be placed in a medically induced coma until June 2014. Parent Herald recounts that following this, the F1 champion had been moved to a custom-designed state-of-the-art suite in his mansion in Geneva.

Ever since then, little has been revealed about the hero's health. The Schumacher family had requested for a media blackout in order to protect their privacy. And consequently, these past two years have shed no light on Michael's constitution.

One of the only sources of information is his longtime manager, Sabine Kehm, who has been speaking for the racer's wife Corinna. Kehm accepted that she couldn't comment on what was going on at the Schumacher's Geneva estate, as the family still wanted to keep things private. International Business Times quotes her as saying, "Of course, Michael will not disappear but at the moment the private situation is so difficult that unfortunately no insight can be given. There must be understanding for this."

Skeptics have their doubts regarding this prolonged request for a blackout. Movie News Guide reports that some fans believe that members of the Schumacher's family are guilty of concealing some kind of secret beneath this façade of privacy. However, there aren't any facts to back these speculations, and unless the family speaks out, these rumors will neither be confirmed nor debunked.
