The Miami Heat continue to struggle in the current NBA season and are hoping that help comes soon. But in order for that to happen, the Heat may have to give up some assets in the process. And the latest word on that is they are willing to part with Luol Deng on the condition that it would be for the right price.
Life just hasn't been the same for the Heat ever since losing the Heat. Hopes were high that Dwyane Wade and/or Chris Bosh could fill up the slack but sadly, both have been hampered by injuries to take over from the Phenom.
Which now leads us to rumors about possible player movements to help the Heat get back up on their feet.
There have been a lot of names being mentioned as possible prospects. Josh Smith was originally included in that list. However with Smith signing up with the Houston Rockets, that option is now scratched. Smith would have been a perfect fit for the Heat, especially after losing big man Josh McRoberts to injury and for the season.
In lieu of Smith, the Heat are reportedly considering Andray Blatche. Blatche is currently playing in China and apparently impressed the Heat when he played as a naturalized player for the Philippines in last FIBA World Cup.
Other names now in mention include Jeff Green, Dion Waiters and Lance Stephenson. However, the Heat must give up some of their prized players if they are serious in getting any of these players.
And apparently this is the reason behind Pat Riley's pronouncement that he would be willing to part with Deng only at the right place or of equal value.
At 14-16, the Heat can still salvage their current campaign but getting quality players is a priority. Deng can be used as trade bait but the question on who to get remains a big question mark for now.
