"Dancing with the Stars" Season 18 winners Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are rumored to be dating. With their good looks, skills and chemistry, it's not a surprise that many would think that these two are romantically linked. However, both parties have continued to deny that there is anything between them.
The rumor was pushed more when Val Chmerkovskiy, Maksim's brother shared with US Weekly that "He (Maks) loves her probably more than I've seen him love another woman. He loves her and adores her, but it's like a King Kong type of relationship." Val's statement really made everyone think that there's a blossoming romance between the two.
While many fans would love to hear that Davis and Chmerkovskiy are indeed a couple... sorry, they're not. Davis has finally responded to the rumor in the "The Wendy Williams Show." All those times, Davis and Chmerkovskiy would dance around the rumor to help their campaign in winning the dancing show.
After all, to make the dance look believable, the dancing duo should appear like a real-life pair. They should start and finish the dance looking like they're romantically involved. And viewers around the world believed this and wanted it to be true.
But the dating rumors are now over as Davis said on the "The Wendy Williams Show" that "I've never been one to comment on my personal life, but Maks and I have an amazing relationship. Our chemistry, I think, definitely stems from, you know, our friendship, the time we spent together on and off the dance floor, and we had an amazing time."
Wendy directly asked them if they are "boyfriend and girlfriend, or lovers or anything? Davis sternly replied "We're not dating, no." Wendy then followed up the question by asking Davis is she has a boyfriend, Davis answers "We like to keep the personal lives personal."
As for undeniable chemistry on stage, Chmerkovskiy replied "We needed that. I didn't need to be naked most of the time on TV" referring to getting the votes needed. This is Maks' first win out of 14 tries.
