Mark Driscoll and Paul Baloche confirmed for major men's conference

Launching its first ever spin-off event is The Mandate – which has already established itself as one of Europe’s most popular men’s conferences.

For men in their 20s and 30s, The Mandate Remix takes place on 14 November at Carnmoney Church, Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. American pastor Mark Driscoll – whose streetwise style has scooped coverage on youtube and in the New York Times – will speak on Clash Of Kingdoms: Becoming An Agent Of Transformation.

He was mentioned in Time magazine’s 10 Ideas Changing The World Right Now, as part of a fresh wave of interest in church reformer John Calvin. Labelled as one of these ‘New Calvinists’, Mark is known for his punchy, pithy approach.

"The man we were supposed to be like is Jesus," he previously told his own 6,000-member congregation, Mars Hill Church, Seattle. "You and I need to take our cue for masculinity from him."

Leading worship will be Texas-based composer Paul Baloche. His material – which includes the highly popular Open The Eyes Of My Heart – is widely used in church services across the UK and USA.

Both men will also be the key contributors at the main event The Mandate in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on 13 November. This one-day conference will focus on the theme True Greatness: Living Life From God’s Perspective.

"We’re excited to welcome Mark, an internationally renowned and dynamic speaker, to reach young men," said Chairman Norman Cameron, "and we encourage them to come to The Mandate Remix. The main conference is already sold out, indicating that men are hungry to come together for a day of inspired worship and teaching."
