Casting rumors for the upcoming Man of Steel 2 movie (aka Batman vs Superman) have been rife, with the latest pointing to Josh Holloway for the role of Aquaman.

The former Lost actor recently responded to those rumors by telling IGN: "It hasn't been brought to my attention by my people. So maybe they're just floating it softly around, but that would be cool!"

He continued, "Sure, I think I'm available at the moment as we just wrapped up. I'm an actor, I like different roles. Batman movies are awesome, Marvel movies are awesome. But we'll see. I'm on a series right now. I think they usually want to sign you up for several movies and I don't know if you can do that when you're committed to a series."

In other Man of Steel 2 news, actor Stephen Amell may be joining the all-star ensemble in the upcoming superhero flick. The actor recently told Fandango that he has been in talks with Warner Brothers studios about a possible role in the Superman sequel.

According to the rumor mill, Amell may be in talks to play the role of the Green Arrow.

The filming of Batman vs Superman will begin in March or April. The script by David Goyer is finally complete but the release date for the Zack Snyder helmed super-hero movie has been pushed back from July 17, 2015 to May 6, 2016.

Warner Brother's International Distribution president Veronika Kwan Vandenberg added: "We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever. The summer release corridor is also perfect for Joe Wright's ambitious new Peter Pan adventure, reimagining the ageless story of the beloved and forever-young hero for audiences worldwide."

Man of Steel's Henry Cavill will return as Superman/Clark Kent and Ben Affleck will play a starring role as Batman/Bruce Wayne. Amy Adams will reprise her role as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as the Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief Perry White.
