Logan Paul news: Star blogger kicked out from Google Preferred ad and 'The Thinning' sequel on hold

YouTube said earlier this week in an open letter that they "are looking at further consequences" for blogger Logan Paul amid the Japan suicide forest video. Now, the streaming giant has finally taken action by cutting ties with him.

YouTube decided to remove Paul's involvement to a top-tier Google advertisement platform. A representative from the company told Polygon, "In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred. Paul is also kicked out from YouTube Red's web series 'Foursome.'" The representative added, "Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season 4 of 'Foursome' and his Originals are on hold."

Paul's upcoming movie, "The Thinning: New World Order," also went down south after he posted the video. The movie was scheduled to be released this year as a sequel to his 2016 Red film "The Thinning."

YouTube's open letter to the community assured everyone that videos similar to Paul's Aokigahara forest video will never be distributed again. "It's taken us a long time to respond, but we've been listening to everything you've been saying. We know that the actions of one creator can affect the entire community, so we'll have more to share soon on steps we're taking to ensure a video like this is never circulated again," YouTube explains on Twitter.

The controversial video posted by Paul sparked outrage from the public and especially among the Japanese people. During an interview with Asian Boss, one Japanese citizen said, "I'm sure the person who committed suicide didn't want anyone to know about it. I think it's a bad move to upload a video like that." Another stated, "I think making fun of the dead body is unacceptable."

Paul is now laying low and will not be posting any videos in the meantime.
