"Good Golly Miss Molly" singer Richard Wayne Penniman, better known as Little Richard, is infamous for his rock and roll lifestyle and his confused sexuality. But after he received Jesus Christ into his heart, Little Richard repented of his past indiscretions.
Little Richard used to refer to himself as "omnisexual" - a person with diverse sexual propensity. But during an interview with Three Angels Broadcasting Network, the iconic musician said that he was wrong to indulge in "unnatural affections" such as same-sex relationships.
"When I first came in show business, they wanted you to look like everybody but yourself," he said. "And anybody that come into show business, they gonna come at you and say you're gay, you're straight, you're a homosexual or something. But God, Jesus, made men men, He made women women, and you've got to live the way God wants you live...he can save you."
Little Richard, who is now 84 years old, said he fell prey to the temptations of showbiz just like many others before him. During a 2012 interview with GQ, Little Richard even boasted of having constant orgies with a woman named Angel, and they would smoke "angel dust" together. "I loved her and she loved me. She was like a magnet. She drew everything to me. You ain't never seen a woman like Angel," he said.
It almost seemed impossible to save him from the hole he dug for himself, but Little Richard said God truly works wonders.
"Regardless of whatever you are, He loves you. I don't care what you are. He loves you and He can save you. All you've got to do is say, 'Lord, take me as I am. I'm a sinner.' But we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The only holy, righteous person is Jesus and He wants us to be just like Him because, in order to go to Heaven, we've got to look like Him," he asserted.
