Lenovo Moto M release date, specs: more images, specs leaked before Nov. 8 launch

It is said that Lenovo will be releasing the new Moto M this week. As if to confirm the rumored Nov. 8 debut for the iteration, supposed press renders and a specs list have made their way online prior to the alleged launch date.

According to Phone Arena, some of the alleged leaked images of the new Moto M showcased the box for the upcoming iteration, with the specs and features listed on it. However, it is still unclear if the images will become official since the leaks supposedly found their way online via Chinese social media site Weibo.

Should the images prove true, it is expected that the new Lenovo Moto M will come out with a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution. Under the hood, the new entry-level device is said to feature an octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor, with at least 4 GB of RAM. There will be at least two storage options, with a base version having 32 GB and a step-up variant offering 54 GB of native storage. Other reported specs include a 16 MP main camera at the back, an 8 MP selfie shooter, and the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box.

However, it remains to be seen if the above specs will be featured on the Lenovo Moto M. While some the specs and features are similar, GSM Arena counters that according to supposed press materials, the new Moto M will launch with a Helio P10 processor instead and will be powered by 3,050 mAh battery. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back and Dolby Atmos audio support. The industry follower also reiterates that even as an entry-model device, the Lenovo Moto M will have water-repellant nanocoating for its unibody design, much like the other previous Moto releases. However, it will not be a high-proofing certification like that of IPX ratings for flagships.

The Moto M is said to debut as a co-release with another iteration, the Lenovo (Vibe) P2.
