When it comes to digital distribution platform Steam, gamers either anticipate their holiday sales or their free games during the weekends. It is always a thrill to know that the gamers can finally play the games they have been wanting to buy at least for a few days. During the weekend, people were able to play "LawBreakers" for free.

From the designer behind "Gears of War," the first-person shooter video game "LawBreakers" was free to play until Sunday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. PST. Players will also be able to play the biggest update the game, which has been called the All-Star Update.

The update has nearly doubled the game's content so players planning to try the game out this weekend can expect a lot from it. One of the biggest changes made to the game is the Boss Leagues. Put simply, this is the game's ranking system which many of the game's fans have been looking forward to.

Players will be able to play against other players in a competitive match. After playing 10 matches, they will get their respective ranks and climb the ladder from there. The Boss Leagues will have players from different regions to lessen the matchmaking queue time.

Those who played during the weekend can get the game for half the price at $15. The promo was available only until Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. PST. The same goes for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) version of the game. Unfortunately, there is no official version for Xbox One nor Nintendo Switch just yet. Boss Key, video game developer of "LawBreakers," is still considering releasing it to these consoles.

Putting things in a general perspective, Boss Key is trying to keep the game alive, according to GameSpot. Compared to other first-person shooter games such as "Destiny 2" and "Overwatch," "LawBreakers" does not have that many players.
