Lamar Odom latest condition update: Former NBA player's children release statement

Lamar Odom is said to be fighting for his life as his family and friends rushed to his bedside at a medical facility in Las Vegas. The NBA star is thought to have had an accidental overdose while visiting a Nevada brothel last Tuesday, and it was reported that according to doctors' findings, various drugs were found in the 35-year-old's system. The basketball star has been reportedly on life support since arriving in Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

It was reported that Odom's ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian, has not left his side since she arrived at the hospital shortly after learning of the athlete's hospitalization. Kardashian and Odom were married for four years before splitting up in 2013.
Though they filed for divorce last July, a source told CNN that a judge has yet to approve the papers, which means that the pair is still legally married. The source adds that Kardashian has been making medical decisions for the basketball star.

Odom was previously married to Liza Morales, and they were together for 10 years before splitting up in 2008. People magazine reports that their children, Destiny, 17, and 13-year old Lamar Jr., arrived in Las Vegas on Wednesday night and that they were accompanied by their mother.

In a statement to CNN, the star's children asked for prayers for their father, saying, "Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends. We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers."

Meanwhile, more details about Odom's brothel visit have emerged. According to CNN, the manager of Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada said that Odom was at the establishment to "get far away from something." Owner Dennis Hof told HLN that in three days, the basketball star spent $75,000 there.

Odom's rep and family has yet to release a statement regarding the 35-year-old's current condition.
