Kirk Franklin says every person needs the Father of their soul

Gospel singer Kirk Franklin is not afaid to admit that he "don't got it."

Christian musician Kirk Franklin says every person needs the Father of their soul to guide them in their lives, but because of people's pride, they reject God and stubbornly insist, "I got it!" even though nothing could be further from the truth.

Franklin wrote on his Patheos blog that "the arrogance born from the seed of Adam and driven by the pride of life" are people's downfall, as it makes them blind to the warning signs placed by God.

He added that it's very difficult for fathers to see their children stumble and fail, but sometimes, it is necessary in order for children to learn from their own mistakes. And this is exactly what God is doing every time people think they do not need His help.

"Just like a loving father who knows already the outcome, He steps back and allows life to be our coach," said Franklin. But the singer says that not every lesson is necessary in life, and people should just simply adhere to God's warning signs so that they will save themselves from the unnecessary bumps ahead.

Franklin admits that he "don't got it," but that's perfectly fine for him. "I don't know the right road to choose. I don't have all the answers as a father. I am not strong enough to have certain friends or choose certain jobs; no matter how profitable they are. I don't have power on my own," he said.

What Franklin says he needs is the help of God. He has decided that he is no longer going to waste time insisting on doing things his own way, and leave everything up to God.

"The promised land is for kids that need the Father's help. And there's not a father out there that doesn't love being needed, including the father of your soul," he said.
