Being good to people is in God's DNA, says Kirk Franklin

Being good to people is in God's DNA, according to Kirk Franklin.

Superheroes never die, says Christian artist Kirk Franklin, in the same way that God will never stop being good.

"You'd think by now people would stop spending their money for stories for which they already know the ending. No matter the name of the hero — Batman, Ironman, Superman – the death of a beloved 'savior of the galaxy' just doesn't appear on screen," he wrote in his Patheos blog.

But despite this knowledge, people still eagerly queue up in cinemas to watch superhero movies, then they scream or cry when they see their beleaguered superhero struggling with the last ounce of survival. Inches from death, the superhero suddenly rises to claim victory and defeats the bad guy, he said.

"No matter how many times the same story is told with different characters, we always have the same fear: this is it. This is the movie in which the good guy doesn't win," said Franklin.

So he questioned believers: "How many times does God have to be good to you for you to know He IS good?"

The singer said that being good to people is in God's DNA. Whatever storm people are going through in life right now, it definitely won't be the one to destroy them because God won't let that happen, he said.

"See, God always comes through at the right time for you. No matter how many different waves there may be, it's the same storm. You know how it starts, and you know how it ends. You've seen God ride the waves before, but doubt tries and erase every bit of divine evidence from the scene of your past miracles," said Franklin.

It might seem like God has a pattern of swooping down to save Christians at the very last minute, but the only purpose of that is for Christians to build faith, according to Franklin.

"He does what you should expect Him to do by now - save your day. He's more than a super hero and — after this victory — there WILL be a sequel. Just don't forget who wins!" he said.
