'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' release date news: Film trailer features a teaser, endorsement of bourbon

The new trailer of "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" simultaneously serves as a teaser of the American version of the Kingsman spy organization featured in the film and as an advertisement for the bourbon that was specifically designed for the movie by Old Forester.

The featured bourbon in the trailer is called "The Statesman." It is also the same name of the United States–based spy agency, effectively the American version of The Kingsman, that will be introduced in the film.

In an interview with Forbes, Old Forester President Campbell Brown revealed that it was director Michael Vaughn's desire to have an American product that has an established legacy and is known for craftsmanship to be brought into the film to recall the style of the first "Kingsman" movie. Given that Old Forester is the oldest bourbon brand in the country, having started before and was able to continue the business throughout the Prohibition, the brand was the perfect choice for the film director.

While Brown said that the bourbon will be released in the market, he did not give the details on when it will be available for consumers. It will presumably be launched at roughly the same time as the film for promotional purposes for both products.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is the sequel to "Kingsman: The Secret Service" released in 201. The upcoming film will feature the headquarters of the intelligence agency destroyed. The team will travel to a bourbon-making factory in Kentucky, and at some point will partner with the members of The Statesman to defeat a common enemy.

Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson, and Colin Firth will reprise their roles in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." Other members of the cast include Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and Channing Tatum. Also included are Elton John and Jeff Bridges.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will premiere on Sep. 22.
