Lips have been tightly sealed regarding the release of "Kingdom Hearts" 3 as well as "Final Fantasy" XV. But speculations point to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) as the place and time where the new game will be released.
However, Shinji Hashimoto, the producer of Square Enix, denied that the game will be released at E3. Hashimoto told IGN in an interview, "First of all, I'd like to mention that the development of Final Fantasy XV is going smoothly. At the company, we are constantly assessing the best timing for delivering new information regarding Final Fantasy XV to our fans. Amidst the process of reviewing our promotional plan, we determined that this year's E3 was not the best time for delivering information regarding Final Fantasy XV. Instead, we're planning, and currently preparing towards disclosing new information during this year's post-E3 events."
As for the release of "Kingdom Hearts" 3, Hashmioto told the media at Comic-Con that there are still so many events left after E3. One of these events may mark the release of the games. When a fan persistently asked Hashimoto more details about "Kingdom Hearts" 3, the producer didn't cave in. He only answered with "We are sorry. They are secret." He then further added, "I'm pretty sure you will be surprised."
The games are currently under production and SquareEnix has made sure that these games are on their top priority list. Hashimoto further added in the IGN interview: "We appreciate that our fans hold high expectations for Final Fantasy XV, and I, myself, am excited about providing new information at the next best opportunity. We'd be very happy if everyone, too, could look forward to that moment."
Meanwhile, Square Enix President and CEO Yosuke Matsuda assured fans that the release of both anticipated games is "soon." And Yoshinori Kitase assured fans that there is no competition of resources between the two games. They just can't give too much information yet.
"Kingdom Hearts" 3 is said to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As for the release date, fans may just have to wait a little more for further details.
