Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were reportedly denied to tie the knot at the Palace of Versailles.

Reality star Kim Kardashian wanted to hold her third wedding at the historical Palace of Versailles in Florence, Italy. However, Daily Mail cited a spokesman for the historic French national monument saying that the American celebrities were not considered distinguished enough to hold an official ceremony and celebration at the Palace.

The spokesman added that the couple can 'enjoy a guided tour' with family and friends on Friday night 'after all the tourists have gone home.'

Catherine Pegard, president of the Palace of Versailles, said that a wedding at the chateau "wasn't possible" but the couple along with their guests are welcome to make a formal visit.

Ms Pegard said in a statement "Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have decided to visit the Chateau of Versailles with their guests in a private surprise tour organised for Friday, May 23rd, on the eve of their marriage.

"In making this choice, they will contribute once more to a better understanding of Versailles, and will help to maintain the exceptional heritage of Versailles, which is classed as a world heritage site by Unesco."

The report continued that KimYe first visited the place in January for an official tour and wanted to go back with their friends.

Meanwhile, BBC cited Italian newspaper La Nazione claiming that the couple will hold its reception for approximately 1,000 guests in Italy. The report said that after the ceremony, the couple and guests will head to Forte Belvedere, a 16th-century fortress, for the wedding party.

The 36-year-old rapper proposed to the socialite on her 33rd birthday in October 2013 at the San Francisco baseball ground AT&T Park, which the rapper rented especially for the occasion.

This is the first marriage for Kanye West, who was previously engaged to designer Alexis Phifer. However, it will be Kim's third marriage after her most recent marriage with basketball player Kris Humphries was over after 72 days.
