"Killzone 2" and "Killzone 3" multiplayer servers will be shutting down in March 2018.

Guerrilla Games, the developer of "Killzone 2" and "Killzone 3" has announced that they will be officially shutting down all of the games' servers early next year on March 29, 2018.

"After more than six years of operation and countless battles between the ISA and the Helghast, the online servers for 'Killzone 2' and 'Killzone 3' will be decommissioned," said Guerrilla Games in their official statement. However, they clarified that the single-player campaign for both games will still be accessible.

"As we near the end of the online life cycle for 'Killzone 2' and 'Killzone 3,' we'd like to express how grateful we are for all the support and feedback we have received from the community over the last eight years," added Guerrilla Games. "Your enthusiasm is what drove us to hone our craft and grow as a studio. We hope you enjoyed playing 'Killzone 2' and 'Killzone 3' online as much as we did creating them."

"Killzone 2" and "Killzone 3" are just two of the many games that lost their online services this year. "Saints Row" developer Deep Silver announced on Thursday, Dec. 21, that they will also be shutting down "Saints Row: The Third" and "Saints Row IV's" "My Steelport" functionality. As such, character and screenshot sharing in "Saints Row: The Third" and "Saints Row IV" will no longer be available after Jan. 31, 2018.

Deep Silver cited the reduction of players who have been using the services in the four years since "Saints Row IV" was released as the main reason for their decision to shut down the games' servers. "We believe our resources are now better spent on preparing for the future," said developer Deep Silver in their official statement. "We'd like to thank everyone who has used and enjoyed the content sharing and community features in 'SaintsRow.com' for their support."
