Kate Middleton wore a beautiful Alexander McQueen dress for the christening ceremony of Prince George today.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore the cream-colored dress from one of her favorite designers, Sarah Burton, who famously designed her wedding gown as well.

The 31-year-old new mom paired the dress with a hat from Jane Taylor and nude pumps. Her ensemble matched the Huntington lace christening gown worn by baby Prince George.

The lace and satin christening gown worn by the young prince was a replica of the one made in 1841 for the christening of all the royal babies, including Prince William. However, the replica, which was made in 2008, has been used for the first time by Prince George so that the original piece can be preserved.

Around 24 guests attended the small intimate ceremony today. Seven godparents have been named: Prince William's cousin Zara Tindall, Oliver Baker (friend of William and Kate), Emilia Jardine-Paterson (Kate's friend), William van Cutsem (William's friend), Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton (former private secretary for royal couple and Prince Harry), Julia Samuel (friend of the late Princess Diana), and Earl Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster.

The royal baby was christened by by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, in the Royal Chapel at St James's Palace today. Prince George's christening will be honored with a christening coin from the Royal Mint, which will start at 13 pounds.
