Blue, the Velociraptor trained by Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), will be central to the plot of "Jurassic World 2."

In an exclusive report by MailOnline, an insider said that the plot will center around Blue, who the film's villains will try to use as basis for creating dinosaurs for warfare. The Velociraptor was last seen attempting to escape to the forest to avoid the T-Rex. Apparently, the group will be returning to Isla Nubar in order to capture Blue.

The unnamed source also said that the antagonists will try to incorporate the new creations with the traits of Indominus Rex, which died in the last film. Owen, as well as Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), will become involved because they will try to stop the antagonists.

The source also said that multiple locations were used when "Jurassic World 2" was shot, including Hawaii and the forests around Hampshire. However, it is unclear yet if the plot will feature the United Kingdom directly. Military vehicles have already been spotted being brought to these filming locations. Helicopters were also spotted being shot. MailOnline also revealed that the film might see the return of humans facing off against dinosaurs in a thunderstorm, a theme that was present in the earlier "Jurassic Park" films but was absent in "Jurassic World."

Dinosaurs will not be the only ones to make a comeback in "Jurassic World 2." Last week, it was confirmed that Jeff Goldblum, who played Dr. Ian Malcolm in "Jurassic Park" and "Lost World: Jurassic Park," will also be reprising the character for the upcoming film. However, it has not been revealed yet how the role is connected to the movie's story.

Also joining the cast is James Cromwell, who will be playing Benjamin Lockwood, one of the people who, together with "Jurassic Park" character John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), were behind the dinosaur cloning technology. In an interview with Larry King, the actor said, "We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes. And so I'm trying to deal with the blowback from what we have done."

"Jurassic World 2" will hit theaters on June 22.
