The Delhi Daredevils and the Royal Challengers Bangalore start their Indian Premier League 2014 campaigns on Thursday, with the two teams coming together at Sharjah.

Many were looking forward to seeing the Delhi Daredevils this season, and many had expected them to be one of the favorites of the tournament, as they had drafted in England power batter Kevin Pieterson into the side this season. However, the Daredevils have already experienced a serious setback, and Pieterson is out of today's game due to a finger injury.
Pieterson picked up the injury about a month ago now, and has been unable to recover enough yet to make the start of the IPL 2014 season.
His absence will be a massive blow to the Daredevils who were looking forward to his firepower, and fans will also be disappointed not to see his flair batting on display.
However, Delhi have a number of other strong players and they will still believe they can compete today and gain the win.
Dinesh Karthik replaces Pietersen as the skipper for today's game and will lead the team out hoping for a winning start.
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to take down Delhi, and many pundits believe they could do so. They have a team full of star players, and have a squad with no injury woes at present.
