iPad Pro release date: Unveiling of Apple's biggest tablet expected soon

After a bigger iPhone 6 and an even bigger iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Inc. apparently also wants to make their tablets bigger compared to the earlier iPad models.

According to reports, the tech company will come up with a new iPad model called iPad Pro. Based on several sources, the newest laptop/tablet hybrid will be released with a 12.9-inch display, which is way larger than the current 9.7-inch iPad Air model and the smaller 7.9-inch iPad mini edition.

In a report posted on Bloomberg, the suppliers of the Cupertino company is supposedly preparing to come up with the components for the bigger tablet model. The production for the larger iPad is set to start its production at the start of 2015.

The report also said that Apple will be selling the new gadget together with the new iPad Air 2 and the next edition of iPad mini.

Apple Inc. may be pressed by the public's demand for larger tablets like Samsung's Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Note Pro, both measuring 12.2 inches, as well as the Surface Pro 3 produced by Microsoft that also comes with a 12-inch display.

Aside from a larger size, the iPad Pro is said to have a 2GB RAM capacity as well as the ability to make a voice call, which is also offered in a few Android tablets that are already out in the market. It will also feature the Apple's signature Touch ID.

When Steve Jobs was still heading the company, Apple chose to avoid adhering to the common notion that "bigger is better." This is the reason why the company took a long time to create bigger products in its iPhone and iPod lines. But now that the company is under Tim Cook, devices like the new iPhone 6 series are starting to come in larger sizes.

Several sources say that the iPad Pro will come out sometime in Summer 2015.
