The Apple iPad Air 3 has long been delayed. As stated in a report from MacWorld, the device was first rumored to release last October but that never happened. Instead, the iPad Pro was launched and rumors have flown about that the iPad Air 3 may instead come out in March 2016.

According to the report, the first time a March 2016 release date appears to come from MyDrivers. Their initial report claimed the device would come out in October but as the month passed by no iPad Air 3 released. The report has since been updated with the indication that the device may release in early 2016.

The exact mention of a March release has since spread across the Internet. As previously reported, this is most likely due to Apple's upcoming Spring event happening in the first quarter of the year. If this proves true then the iPad Air 3 may be presented in March but might not see a public release until April.

It is also taken into account that the iPad Air 3 isn't the only device set to launch in March. Another Apple device that launched around this time before was the Apple Watch and it is expected that the Apple Watch 2 will launch in March as well. Then there is the rumor of the MacBook Air 2016 also launching in March while the MacBook Pro comes in June.

Even if the device will release in th estimated release window there is no guarantee what its specs will be. Some rumors point to the exclusion of 3D Touch while others hint that it might just be a smaller, thinner version of the iPad Pro.

As it stands, Apple has not yet made any official statements regarding when the Apple iPad 3 is going to be released and given how the company does not make any pre-event announcements, it is likely the public will have a definite release date when the device has been properly unveiled.
