Latest reports are that Apple will be rolling out the iOS 7.1 operating system in March.
9to5mac.com are pretty on the ball when it comes to Apple developments and they are citing "credible sources"as saying the long-awaited update is coming next month.
There has been more than a little irritation over bugs that have hit the current operating system - from the iMessage bug to the so-called "screen of death", not to mention battery woes.
Now users are complaining that the Find My iPhone tracking service can be easily bypassed without a hacker even needing to guess a password. ReadWrite explains more here
As Apple puts the finishing touches to the iOS7.1, users won't want to wait a day longer than necessary to put these bugs to bed once and for all.
There have been five beta versions of iOS7.1 and the prediction is that the full release won't contain any major surprises, with only a few tweaks, including to the interface.
As for iOS8, it's anticipated this will complement the still-in-development iWatch with new mobile health and fitness tracking.
According to 9to5mac.com, the iOS8 will include a "Healthbook" application to monitor aspects like calories burned, number of miles walked, steps taken, as well as vital signs like hydration levels and heart rate.
The website cites sources as saying it may even be able to measure glucose levels.
The iPhone can already measure steps but it is not able to monitor vital signs. There are apps out there that can already do this for iPhone users, but the Healthbook will streamline things.
It's also reported to come with the handy function of allowing users to enter details about their medications so that they can receive reminders about when to take them.
It's expected that both iOS 8 and the iWatch will be shipping this year but similar to the iOS 7.1 it is not expected to feature major changes to the interface.
