Immorality everywhere: New 'naked' dating shows take American television by storm

It seems like immorality is everywhere nowadays, and the best place to look for it is on television. Back in the old days, dating shows were all about helping people find a compatible partner from the opposite sex. While dating shows still do that nowadays, they have redically changed the playing field by asking contestants to appear naked and make several sexual innuendos.

"Society's driven desire for nudity and immorality has bled into the television and movie industry for years now and has completely transformed the way we watch or listen today," Ricky Scarparo writes in an article for Charisma News.

TLC has a show called "Undressed," while Channel 4 features "Naked Attraction." The TLC show puts two strangers in a room and makes them undress each other before sitting on a bed and answering questions. On the other hand, the Channel 4 show lines up naked people for dating selection.

"The entire genre feels like it's reached its natural endpoint," says Scarparo. "We have now found ourselves at a terrible new dawn, where desirability is judged by genitalia."

Aside from "Undressed" and "Naked Attraction," there is also "Dating Naked" from VH1. "The show matches up several heterosexual contestants who are routinely switched with other contestants while nude most of the time with the genitals of both sexes along with the female breasts, and occasionally the buttocks, blurred out," Scarparo says of the show.

"Naked and Afraid," meanwhile, comes from the Discovery Channel. It is about a naked man and woman who are placed in the middle of nowhere. They are forced to survive using their primitive skills and their ability to work together.

Scarparo says all of these shows sound ridiculous, but "Buying Naked" from TLC takes the cake. The show follows real estate agent Jackie Youngblood, who shows homes in "clothing optional communities" to "house-hunting nudists."

A man of God once said that the new normal would come when nudity would be embraced even in the house of God, according to Scarparo. "And before you dismiss this as crazy, it's already happening," he says.
